We will be holding auditions for our June Production of Reservoir by Eric Henry Sanders on Saturday April 14 from 1 – 4pm and Monday April 16 from 6:30-9:30pm, at Club Diversity (863 S. Auditions will consist of cold readings although prepared monologues are welcome. Please bring a headshot and resume if available.
The Production runs June 7-23 (Thursday through Saturday) with a matinee on Sunday on June 17 at MadLab.
Synopsis
Private Frank Hasek, a young veteran of a foreign war, returns home to await his redeployment. While suffering from the strains of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder he struggles to keep his job as a mechanic in order to support Marisa, the mother of his newborn son. However,
unsettling visions and a series of unfortunate events threaten to upend his career and derail his relationship. Although he seeks help from an overworked psychiatrist at VA hospital, his behavior becomes increasingly erratic, and threatens to turn violent when he discovers that Marisa is having an affair with his Staff Sergeant.
Place and Time
At and near a military base in the United States. The depressed town near the base is awash in tattoo parlors, check-cashing services, and cheap bars.
Characters
Frank Hasek: An enlisted veteran, age twenty-one. A grunt responsible for repairing military vehicles. He has recently returned from his first deployment and is awaiting his second.
Sergeant: A Non-Commissioned Officer, and Hasek’s Staff Sergeant. Age twenty-six. Career military.
Marisa: The mother of Hasek’s infant son. Age nineteen. She and Hasek moved together from the small town in which they were raised.
Doctor: A military psychiatrist, age thirty. Though she has worked in the war zone as a MedEvac, she is currently stationed stateside.
Andre: Also an enlisted veteran, age twenty-one. He and Hasek served together in the war zone and are now stationed together stateside.
This will be the third production of Reservoir. It was originally produced off Broadway by The Drilling Company receiving a positive re view by the New York Times in 2011.
The Second production is scheduled to open in Berlin, Germany in
April of 2012.
